We’re looking for…
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic QA Analyst to support the QA team. We want someone who is passionate about ensuring quality and has the ability to find any defects in our deliverables. The ideal candidate must be self motivated, hard working, have attention to detail, be thorough and methodical in their approach, and work to tight deadlines.
What’s the role?
The purpose of the role is to assist the QA team with the testing of various software including websites, HTML templates/emails and iPad/mobile applications, for a wide variety of prestigious clients. Specific responsibilities include:
- Executing a range of tests based on well-defined approaches, on a variety of deliverables. This will include tests for functionality, accessibility and compatibility based on manual techniques as well as automated tools.
- Report and manage high quality defects through to resolution using a bug tracker tool (JIRA).
- Occasionally plan, scope and estimate test efforts
- Attend meetings and liaise with developers and project managers to get the work done.
- Keep up to date with latest software, software testing innovations and QA best practice.
You are someone who:
- Can work in a fast paced environment; handle multiple projects and be pragmatic about changing circumstances.
- Wants to work in software testing, is passionate about improving quality and is keen learn new skills.
- Is comfortable dealing with people at all levels and across all functions in a company.
- Is self motivated and doesn’t always wait for work to come to them.
Boxes to tick
- Solid experience of software/website testing, ideally at a digital agency.
- Understanding of browsers (web and mobile) and their technical limitations.
- Excellent written English and can report defect with any ambiguity.
- Ability to test ad-hoc without test scripts/plans
- An inquisitive nature and an exceptional eye for detail.
- Experience of testing within content management systems (e.g. EPiServer)
- Comprehensive understanding of the W3C WCAG 2.0 accessibility guidelines
- Experience with automated testing tools (e.g. Selenium IDE)
- Has obtained the ISEB Foundation Certificate (or has the desire to achieve certification)
- Ability to interact with team members and stand up for QA roles in the software development process.
- Have good documentation/presentation skills.
- A basic understanding of Web technologies
A degree is a bonus but not a necessity, and we will consider candidates from other backgrounds.
